How to Build a Chick-fil-A Meal for 500 Calories or Less
A 500-calorie limit can still leave room for a main item, a side and a sauce. The key is to check portions and count every part of the order.
Choose a simple starting point
Begin with the main item, as it will usually account for much of your calorie budget. Grilled chicken options and smaller portions are useful candidates, but check Chick-fil-A’s current nutrition information because recipes and serving sizes can change.

Possible starting points include grilled nuggets, a grilled chicken sandwich or a smaller serving of regular nuggets. Enter your choice in your tracker before adding anything else, then use the remaining calories to shape the rest of the meal.
Add a side that fits
A fruit cup or side salad may leave more room than chips or a larger portion of waffle fries. Portion size matters, so select the exact size shown on the menu rather than logging a generic entry.

If fries are your favourite, you do not necessarily have to exclude them. Try pairing a smaller portion with a modest main item, and check whether the full combination remains at or below 500 calories.
Count sauces and extras
Sauces, dressings, cheese and other additions can be easy to miss because they arrive separately or feel like small extras. Log each one, including any dressing used on a salad, rather than counting only the main item and side.

You can use less of a sauce sachet, choose a lower-calorie option shown in the nutrition guide or skip an extra that matters less to you. Record the amount you actually use where possible, as the total depends on the sauce and portion.
Check the complete order before paying
Build the whole order in your tracker using the restaurant’s current figures. Good combinations to test include grilled nuggets with fruit, a grilled sandwich on its own with a sauce, or a smaller nugget portion with a small side.

Include your drink if it contains calories, then review the final total before ordering. If it exceeds 500 calories, change one element at a time, such as the side size, sauce or main portion, while keeping the parts you most enjoy.
