Upma di pane: un’idea facile per la colazione, uno spuntino dopo scuola o persino per il pranzo al sacco dei bambini, con il pane come ingrediente principale e altri ingredienti facilmente reperibili.

Ingredienti

  • 4 Bread slices
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1/2 cup Mixed vegetables (Capsicum, carrot, peas (finely chopped))
  • 2 Green Chilli
  • 3/4 tsp Sambar powder
  • 1/8 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 Curry Leaves sprig
  • Coriander leaves (To garnish)
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 tsp Chana dal
  • 4 Cashew nuts (optional )

Preparazione

    Cut the bread slices into bite size squares. Slice the onion, slit green chillies and chop tomato.

    Heat a pan with oil and temper with the items given under the ‘To Temper’ table (I omitted cashews).

    Then add curry leaves, green chillies, slit. After that, fry onions till transparent and add the ginger garlic paste if adding and fry for 30 secs.

    Add tomatoes, vegetables if adding, required salt and fry till tomatoes turn soft.

    Then add turmeric and sambar powder and stir well. Sprinkle some water and mix well.

    Add the bread pieces and mix/toss to coat all the bread.

    Add ghee, coriander leaves, in low flame and cook for a while to give the bread nice toast.
