- 2 large eggs (divided)
- 3 tbsp butter (melted)
- 3 tbsp white sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Preparazione
- 1
In a stand mixer bowl, mix yeast, ½ cup flour, and warm water until smooth. Let sit for 10–15 minutes until foamy.

Add 1 egg, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Mix, then add remaining flour and knead with a dough hook for 5–6 minutes until soft and slightly sticky.

Transfer dough to a floured surface, shape into a ball, then place in an oiled bowl. Cover and let rise for about 2 hours until doubled in size.
- 4
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Flatten the dough into a rectangle and cut into 8 equal pieces.
- 5
Shape each piece into a ball, then gently flatten into bun shapes about ½ inch thick and place on the baking sheet.
- 6
Cover loosely and let the buns rise for 1 hour until puffy. Preheat oven to 375°F.
- 7
Mix remaining egg with milk and brush over the buns. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- 8
Bake for 15–17 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before slicing and serving.
