This spaghetti bolognese is a real favorite: a rich meat sauce with vegetables, herbs and a touch of cinnamon for extra depth. Perfect for a cozy weeknight meal.
📝 Ingredients
- 300 g spaghetti
- 350 g ground beef
- bottle of sugocasa pasta sauce
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp sambal
- 1 tsp sugar
- pinch of cinnamon
- splash of red wine
- splash of balsamic vinegar
- 1 carrot
- 2 stalks of celery
- a handful of fresh basil, stems attached
- salt & pepper
- olive oil or butter
👨🍳 Instructions
- 11. Chop the onion, garlic, celery and carrot into small pieces and roughly chop the basil. 2. Heat some oil or butter in the pan and crumble and brown the ground beef. Scoop the meat out of the pan and set it aside. 3. Don't clean the pan; add a little more oil and gently sauté the onion. Add the garlic, pepper and salt and let the garlic cook for a moment as well. 4. Now add the carrot, basil, celery and oregano: stir everything well and let it simmer gently for about 10 minutes. Now add the tomato sauce, sambal, sugar, cinnamon, wine and balsamic vinegar. Add the meat back in as well. Stir everything together and turn the heat down low. 5. Cook the spaghetti in plenty of water while the sauce gently simmers. As long as you keep the heat low this sauce really can't overcook. I like it best if it has rested for at least half an hour. 6. Spoon a ladle of sauce over the spaghetti, or serve them separately in bowls as I did. Enjoy your meal!
