Shrimp and Spring Onion Dumplings

Shrimp and Spring Onion Dumplings

These simple dumplings are filled with juicy shrimp and spring onion and go in the oven instead of the steamer. Perfect as a side dish or party snack with a chili sauce for dipping.

2 servings

Ingredients

  • Small shrimp (I used frozen ones)
  • spring onion
  • soy sauce
  • optional chili sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. 1

    1. Preheat the oven and let the puff pastry and shrimp thaw. Finely slice the spring onion (I cut them into half rings) and mix with the thawed shrimp and a generous splash of soy sauce. Let it sit for a few minutes so the flavor soaks in.2. Now fill the dough. Place the sticky side up, spoon some filling into the center and fold closed. Moisten the edges a bit (very important if you use the Cube!) so they stick well. Doing it by hand? Then use a fork on its side to press the edges together.3. Dumplings are really meant to be steamed, but these go in the oven! Place the dumplings on baking paper and put them in the middle of the oven. I baked them for 10 minutes, 5 on each side. You don't necessarily have to turn them, but then the bottom will stay quite wet. If you don't flip them, 8 minutes is enough.

  2. 2

We ate this snack as a side with our stir-fry, but of course you can make more and serve with some salad. They'll also work great as a party snack! Dip them in the chili sauce. Enjoy!
