- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup neutral vegetable oil (I used sunflower oil)

- 2
Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together buckwheat flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- 3
Add in wet ingredients: Add flax eggs, plant milk, oil, vanilla, and vinegar. Mix until just combined—do not overmix.
- 4
Bake: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 5
Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
