📝 Ingredients

  • 1.5 L hot water
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 220 g brown sugar
  • 6 medium pears
  • 395 g NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk 395g
  • 30 g butter
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 75 g shredded coconut flakes

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Place the hot water, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar in a large saucepan on medium-high heat; add pears so their stems face upright and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until they are just tender, (you can test this by inserting a small knife into each pear).
  2. 2Remove pears from the liquid and allow to completely cool in the fridge; discard liquid.
  3. 3Meanwhile, make the caramel sauce by combining NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk, butter and golden syrup in small pan and stir over a moderate heat until boiling; reduce heat and stir constantly for 5-7 minutes until it thickened; allow cool to room temperature.
  4. 4Once the pears have cooled, dip each one into the caramel sauce, followed by the shredded coconut; place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and set in the fridge.
