  • 1 pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves

  13. 13

Boil enough water in a steamer firstly.

  14. 14

Secondly, place the idli stand inside it. The water boiling should not touch the lower track of idli otherwise, while boiling it will affect the texture of idli.

  15. 15

Close with lid and steam cook for 10-12 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.

  16. 16

Take out carefully and cool down for a minute.

  17. 17

To un mould the idli, dip a spoon in water and run it around steamed idli to scoop it out. Repeat for all idli.
