Oats paniyaram, oats kara paniyaram recipe with step by step photos. Tasty, spicy and healthier alternate to regular paniyarams.

📝 Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Oats (I used quick cook)
  • 1/4 cup Toor dal
  • 1/4 cup Chana dal
  • 1 tbsp Urad dal
  • 1 tbsp Moong dal
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 6 Red chillies
  • 1 tsp Fennel seed (or cumin seeds)
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Curry leaves (sprig)
  • 1 cup Mixed vegetables (finely chopped Carrot, cabbage (Optional))
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  • Salt

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Soak dals together for 2-3 hrs.
  2. 2Take oats, red chillies, fennel and ginger in a mixer and blend until all get powdered well.
  3. 3Add the soaked dal to this and grind coarsely(like broken wheat texture),add little water while grinding.
  4. 4Mix enough water to get pouring consistency.
  5. 5Add chopped onions, curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and asafoetida. Mix well.
  6. 6Heat paniyaram pan, grease it with oil and spoon the batter, cook covered in medium flame.
  7. 7Flip and cook until it evenly turns golden brown. Drizzle oil whenever necessary/desired.
