Autumn is officially here, so we decided to bring you one of our favourite comfort foods - our calorie counting and Weight Watchers style Toad In The Hole recipe!
📝 Ingredients
- 6 low fat pork sausages
- 30 g plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 75 ml skimmed milk
- low calorie cooking spray
- 1 pinch sea salt
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Pre-heat oven to 200°C
- 2Cook the sausages in the oven for 10 minutes until they are not quite cooked and only slightly browned
- 3Make: While the sausages are cooking make the batter
- 4Whisk: In a bowl whisk the eggs, flour, milk and salt until there are no lumps, set aside in the fridge
- 5Remove the sausages from the oven, then turn it up to 210°C
- 6Spray the oven tray with a decent amount of low calorie cooking spray, then put it in the oven until it starts to foam (probably about 5 minutes)
- 7Place the sausages in the pre heated tray, give the batter a quick stir and pour it into they tray with the sausages
- 8Cook at 210°C
- 9Turn: Do not open the oven door, but after about 10 minutes turn the oven down to just under 200°C and allow to cook for another 5 - 10 minutes (you should be able to take a look after about 15 minutes)
- 10Remove: When the Yorkshire Pudding is risen, nicely browned and crisp remove from the oven and serve
