📝 Ingredients

  • 2 litres Coca-Cola
  • 1 Onion (peeled and cut in half)
  • 1 Bone-in ham
  • Whole Cloves
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • pinch salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Treacle Syrup
  • 2 teaspoons Mustard Powder
  • 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1--- Coca Cola Ham ---
  2. 2Prepare - in a large pot or dutch oven, place the ham and onion inside. Pour the Coca-Cola over top of the ham.
  3. 3Simmer - bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer cooked ham for about 2 hours. Cover loosely with lid, rotating ham so it's evenly cooked. For uncooked ham, simmer for approx 30 minutes per pound (500g). Allow ham to slightly cool before scoring.
  4. 4Prepare Glaze - choose your favorite ham glaze method, prepare and set aside.
  5. 5Score Ham - remove ham skin (rind), leaving a layer of fat. Score the ham in a diagonal pattern. Place a whole clove in each diamond intersection.
  6. 6Glaze - using a brush, glaze the whole ham. Keep some glaze aside to baste while baking or for serving with.
  7. 7Bake - place the ham in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes (until the skin crisps up).
  8. 8Serve - remove from oven and allow to rest for 15 minutes. Carve and serve with any remaining glaze or sauce of your choice.
  9. 9--- Honey Mustard Glaze ---
  10. 10Place the ingredients into a saucepan and cook over medium heat until smooth. Brush over ham before baking and baste periodically while cooking.
  11. 11--- Maple Bourbon Glaze ---
  12. 12Place ingredients into a saucepan and stir to combine. Simmer over medium heat for approx 7 minutes until slightly thickens (it will thicken as it cools). Brush glaze evenly over the ham. Save glaze for additional brushing or to serve with ham
  13. 13--- Treacle Glaze ---
  14. 14Using a brush, glaze with the treacle. Mix the Mustard Powder and Dark Brown Sugar together. Sprinkle the mustard mixture overtop of the ham so it sticks to the treacle glaze.
