Quick Sauteed Spinach and Onions is an easy and healthy side dish you can have on the table in less than 20 minutes.
📝 Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 small or 1 large yellow onion
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 8 cups fresh spinach (or 1 8 ounce bag )
- Kosher salt and pepper
- Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
- Squeeze of lemon juice (optional)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1In a large skillet with sides, heat olive oil over medium high heat.
- 2Add the onions and saute for 7-9 minutes, until soft and starting to brown on the edges.
- 3Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and saute for about 30 seconds. Sprinkle with salt.
- 4Add the spinach and stir into the onion mixture for 2-3 minutes, or until leaves are just wilted. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add a squeeze of lemon right before serving, if desired.
