Mexican style sliced hotdogs sauteed with onion, cherry tomatoes, and cilantro served as tacos on corn tortillas. Looks great. Tastes great. Easy to make. The dish is known as salchichas a la Mexicana or salchichas guisadas. Less than 15 minutes start to finish.
📝 Ingredients
- 6 hot dogs
- 1 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes or chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 medium white onion
- 6 sprigs cilantro
- 1 tsp. Mexican oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 corn tortillas
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Chop the onion and cilantro.
- 2Cut the hot dogs into 1/2" pieces.
- 3Preheat 2 tablespoons cooking oil to medium-hot then add the chopped onions and fry for 2 minutes until the onions are just starting to turn translucent.
- 4Add the tomatoes and cook for 2 more minutes.
- 5Add the sliced hot dogs stir and cook for 2 more minutes.
- 6Mix in the cilantro and cook for 1 more minute.
- 7Sprinkle the oregano on the hot dogs before serving.
- 8Add salt and pepper to taste.
- 9Warm the tortillas before serving.
