Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry takes less than 30 minutes to make and tastes just like take-out! This sweet and savory meal is perfect for busy nights!

📝 Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons oil (divided)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak (sliced thin)
  • 4 cups broccoli (cut into bite-size florets)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions (sliced)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Season flank steak with salt and pepper and then toss with cornstarch, using your hands to really massage it in so all pieces are coated. Set aside.
  2. 2In a liquid measuring cup or bowl, mix together 1 c. beef broth, 1/2 c. soy sauce, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1 Tbsp. fresh grated ginger, 4 cloves minced garlic, and 2 Tbsp. cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. 3Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir fry 4 c. broccoli for about 4 minutes until crisp-tender. Remove onto a plate.
  4. 4Add 1 Tbsp. oil and lay strips of beef down flat in the pan (this will need to be done in batches). Let it sear on one side for 2 minutes, and then flip and cook another 1-2 minutes. Remove and place on a paper towel lined plate. Add remaining 1 Tbsp. oil and repeat with remaining beef.
  5. 5Add beef and broccoli back to the pan and pour the sauce over the top. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. 6Garnish with 1 tsp. toasted sesame seeds and 2 sliced green onions. Serve over basmati or jasmine rice.
