📝 Ingredients
- 30 Grams Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 Small Red Onion
- 170 grams Baby Button Mushrooms
- few sprigs Thyme
- 500 ml Beef stock
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 60 ml Double Cream
- 1 tsp Cornstarch
- Salt and Pepper
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Prepare: Gather equipment. If cooking your steak first, use the juices left in the steak pan to add extra flavour to your mushroom sauce.Gather and measure all the ingredients.
- 2Mushrooms: Clean the mushrooms using a wet kitchen paper towel (this prevents them from soaking up water.)Thinly slice the 170 grams Baby Button Mushrooms.
- 3Dice: Finely dice 1 Small Red Onion and 2 cloves Garlic.
- 4Melt the 30 Grams Butter over a medium to high heat
- 5Fry: Cook the finely sliced mushrooms for 5 minutes.
- 6Cook: Add the diced garlic and onions and cook with the mushrooms for 10 mins.
- 7Thyme: Add the leaves from a few sprigs Thyme.
- 8Stock: Stir in 500 ml Beef stock and 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 9Season with Salt and Pepper.
- 10Boil: In a small bowl, stir 1 tsp Cornstarch with 1 tbsp of tap water until smooth. Then add into the pan.Stir together and bring to a boil.
- 11Cream: Add in 60 ml Double Cream and stir through until warmed. (Do not boil)
- 12Serve
