📝 Ingredients
- 6 Tbs butter
- 6 Tbs flour
- 6 cups half and half
- 2 tsp ground mustard
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 4 cups sharp cheddar (grated, divided)
- 1 cup apple smoke Gouda (grated)
- 2 cups Great Midwest 3-Alarm Jack Cheese®
- 1 lb elbow macaroni pasta (cooked al dente)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 375°
- 2Cook pasta al dente. Drain, rinse with cold water, set aside.
- 3In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium/low heat.
- 4Whisk flour into butter and continue to whisk for a couple minutes.
- 5While stirring, add half and half, ground mustard, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.
- 6Bring to a boil and continue stirring until thickened.
- 7Add all three cheeses, except 1 cup of sharp cheddar, which will be used for topping, stir until melted.
- 8Once melted, pour cheese mixture over pasta, stir.
- 9Lightly spray a 3 quart baking dish with non stick spray.
- 10Pour macaroni and cheese into baking dish.
- 11Top with remaining cup of sharp cheddar.
- 12Bake until cheese is bubbly and starting to brown, approximately 30-35 minutes.
- 13Serve hot and enjoy!
