Then marinate your beef in a blend of spices and seasonings to create this Nigerian dish that can be cooked in an oven, grill, BBQ, air fryer, or even a pan.

📝 Ingredients

  • 450 grams Sirloin Steak
  • 1 cube Chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp Groundnut oil
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 4 tbsp Suya Seasoning ((see notes for how to make your own))

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Soak wooden sticks in water. Preheat the oven to 180°C Fan /200°C / 400 F / Gas mark 6.
  2. 2Mallet: Use a meat mallet to tenedrise and flatten the steak. You can use other heavy objects (such as a rolling pin) to create the same effect
  3. 3Slice the thin steak into small strips.
  4. 4Thread onto kebab sticks.
  5. 5Brush on the oil
  6. 6Mix: Make the suya seasoning adding garlic powder chicken stock cube mixing together
  7. 7Seasoning: Flatten seasoning on a large plate
  8. 8Coat the beef with the seasoning. Use your hands to help make sure beef is well coated with seasoning.
  9. 9Rack: Place on a rack inside a baking tray (we line the tray with foil for a easier clean up)
  10. 10Cook: Coat with oil again and place in oven 180°C Fan /200°C / 400 F / Gas mark 6 and cook for 12 minutes.
  11. 11Turn halfway through cooking.
