Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted, plus more for greasing pan)
- 1 1/2 cups finely ground yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (plus 2 tablespoons )
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup low fat buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, sage, chives, parsley, etc.)

Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease an 8-inch square pan.

In a large bowl, whisk cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.

In another bowl, whisk melted butter, buttermilk, and eggs.

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
