Ingredients

  • 8 cups peeled and sliced apples (approximately 6-7 apples)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350º F. Spray a 8-inch square pan with non-stick spray.

    In a large bowl mix together the sliced apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and vanilla until the apples are evenly coated. Spread into the prepared pan.

    In a separate bowl mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt for the topping. Pour in the melted butter and mix until everything is wet. Spread over the apples in an even layer.

    Bake for 45-50 minutes until it is bubbly hot, the topping is golden and the apples are soft. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.

    Serve topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
