📝 Ingredients
- 2 russet potatoes
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 6 tbsp whole milk
- 1/2 tbsp powdered cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp butter
- 8 oz Velveeta (cut into cubes)
- 4 strips bacon (cooked and crumbled)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1--- French Fries ---
- 2Cut the scrubbed potatoes into sticks and place them in a bowl. Cover the potato sticks with water and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 24 hours).
- 3Preheat the air fryer to 300˚F (see notes below for oven and deep fry methods). Drain the water from the potatoes and dry them very well. Coat them with one tablespoon of vegetable oil and air fry for 10 minutes, turning them halfway through. Remove from the air fryer and spread on a piece of parchment paper to cool for 10 minutes.
- 4While they are cooling, preheat the air fryer to 400˚F. Return the fries to the air fryer basket and coat them with another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Air fry them for 8-10 minutes, turning them halfway through. Immediately sprinkle them with sea salt.
- 5--- Cheese Sauce ---
- 6Whisk together the milk and powdered cheddar cheese in a microwave-safe bowl.
- 7Add the butter and cubed Velveeta.
- 8Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes, stirring after every minute, until smooth.
- 9--- Assembly ---
- 10Divide the french fries between four paper boats. Top with cheese sauce and crumbled bacon bits.
