Perfect sweet sticky Beer and Honey Glazed Bratwurst. Can't beat a German Sausage for dinner, we show you how to grill Bratwurst perfectly on an optigrill (George Foreman / BBQ / Grill or Pan). Meanwhile create a sauce in a cast iron skillet / pan using beer, honey & mustard with garlic, sugar and thyme. Serve Brats chopped and glazed in sauce or on the side as a dip. It is mouthwatering good, perfect for sharing plate or party food!
📝 Ingredients
- 6 Bratwurst sausages
- 330 ml Beer
- 100 ml Honey
- 2 tbsp light brown sugar
- 2-3 sprigs Fresh Thyme (1/2 tsp dried thyme)
- 1 tbsp English Mustard
- 1 tsp Garlic Puree (or 2 cloves of garlic crushed)
- 2 tsp cornstarch ( mixed with 2 tsp of water )
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Cook the 6 Bratwurst sausages on your Tefal optigrill or grill/pan/BBQ cook until well done normally 20 mins cooking time
- 2Pour the 330 ml Beer, 100 ml Honey with 2 tbsp light brown sugar, and 2-3 sprigs Fresh Thyme in the pot over medium heat and bring to the boil.
- 3Once boiling, lower the heat and simmer for 15 mins stirring the sauce until the liquid has reduced and thickened.
- 4Add the 1 tbsp English Mustard, 1 tsp Garlic Puree and 2 tsp cornstarch whisking into the beer sauce.Return to the boil and keep stirring until the sauce is nice and thick.
- 5Cut your bratwurst into nice size chunks and add them to the beer glaze and stir until fully coated.
- 6We served our bratwurst with homemade chunky chips cooked in the acti-fry sprinkled with parmesan, leftover glaze to dip the chips in and homemade coleslaw.Enjoy!!!
