Homemade Fig Jam

A delicious and easy homemade fig jam made with fresh figs, sugar and cinnamon stick. The perfect jam for toast, bread, crackers, and more.
Ingredients
- 1 kg (2 1/4 pounds) figs
- 100 grams (1/2 cup) granulated sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- 1
Wash the figs well, remove the stems and cut into quarters. There’s no need to peel the figs, as the skins soften during cooking and add texture and flavor to the jam.
- 2
Place the figs, sugar, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Stir well with a wooden spoon and cook over low heat for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens. To check if the jam is ready, run a wooden spoon across the bottom of the saucepan. If it leaves a clear trail that remains visible for a few seconds, the fig jam is ready.
- 3
Turn off the heat, remove the cinnamon stick, and let the jam cool to room temperature.
- 4
Transfer the jam to a clean glass jar and seal tightly. Allow it to cool completely before refrigerating.
