Traeger Smoked Hot Dogs are slow-smoked for 45 minutes for juicy, wood-fired flavor. Slathered in Traeger Que BBQ Sauce and seasoned with Perfect Pork Rub, these BBQ hot dogs are bold, smoky, and perfect for any cookout.
📝 Ingredients
- 8 Whole jumbo beef hot dogs
- 4 Tablespoon Traeger 'Que BBQ Sauce
- To Taste Traeger Perfect Pork Rub
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1When ready to cook, preheat your grill to 225°F, if available, use super smoke.
- 2Using a sharp knife, cut diagonal slits every half inch or so into the top of each hot dog. Then, turn 180 degrees and cut more slits to make a crosshatch or diamond pattern. Flip the dogs over and repeat on the opposite side. The slits will allow the dogs to expand and take on more smoke without splitting.
- 3(Optional step for extra flavor) Drizzle your dogs in Traeger Que BBQ Sauce, tossing to coat. Sprinkle each with Perfect Pork or your favorite rub.
- 4Place the dogs directly on the grill grates and smoke for 45 minutes, flipping after the first 20 minutes.
- 5When the hot dogs are done smoking, serve hot with your favorite hot dog fixings, see our [Sonoran-Style Hot Dog](https://www.traeger.com/recipes/sonoran-style-hot-dog), or [Grilled Chicago Hot Dog](https://www.traeger.com/recipes/chicago-style-hot-dogs), for inspiration.
