Hot Buttered Noodles

Also called Amish Noodles, these wide egg noodles are cooked in savory chicken broth and creamy butter with a supper easy "walk away" recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
  • 12 ounces wide egg noodles

Instructions

    In a large pot, bring broth, butter and salt to a full, rolling boil.

    Add noodles then boil, uncovered, for 5 minutes; stirring occasionally.

    Turn off heat, stir in parsley then cover pot.

    Let noodles set for 20 minutes or until tender and most of the broth has been absorbed. Stir once or twice the first 10 minutes to make sure the noodles don’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
