Mizeria - Creamy Cucumber Salad

Mizeria is a delightful Creamy Cucumber Salad that brings together the coolness of cucumbers, creaminess of sour cream, and freshness of dill. It's a simple summer salad that can be prepared in no time. An Eastern European salad from Poland.
Ingredients
- 2 Long English Cucumbers (sliced)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup fresh dill (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1/2 small white onion (thinly sliced)
- salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1
Wash the cucumbers thoroughly under cold water. If desired, peel the cucumbers for a more delicate texture. Slice the cucumbers into thin rounds and place them in a large bowl.
- 2
In a separate bowl, combine the sour cream, fresh dill, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 3
Pour the sour cream mixture over the sliced cucumbers. Gently toss the cucumbers to ensure they are evenly coated with the dressing.
- 4
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. This step also helps to chill the salad and enhance its refreshing nature.
- 5
Before serving, give the salad a final stir. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed by adding more salt, pepper, or dill according to your preference.
- 6
Serve the Mizeria chilled as a side dish or a refreshing salad. It pairs well with grilled meats, roasted chicken, or as part of a salad bar. Enjoy!
