Black bean burger is a meatless burger recipe that uses black beans to mimic the flavor of beef.
📝 Ingredients
- 2 Cans Beans (14 oz., black, drained, rinsed and patted dry)
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1/4 Bell Pepper (green, minced)
- 1/4 Bell Pepper (Red, minced)
- 3/4 Cup Onion (yellow, chopped)
- 2 Cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 3/4 teaspoons Cumin (ground)
- 1/2 teaspoon Paprika (smoked)
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs (Panko)
- 2 Eggs (large, whisked)
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- BBQ Sauce
- Mayo
- Red Onions ( Caramelized)
- Avocado
- Lettuce (Butterleaf)
- Cheddar Cheese (White )
- Buns (Buttered and grilled brioche )
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 325°F. Spread beans evenly onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes until slightly dried out.
- 2Meanwhile, add olive oil, chopped peppers, onion, and garlic over medium heat until peppers and onions are soft, about 5-6 minutes.
- 3Place on a paper towel lined plate and dry gently.
- 4Place in a large bowl or in a food processor with the remaining ingredients. Stir or pulse everything together, then add the black beans. Mash with a fork (or pulse) the mixture, leaving some beans whole and intact for texture.
- 5Use a 1/3-1/2 cup to scoop into patties
- 6Form and set in the fridge to rest for 15 minutes.
- 7Place patties on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake at 375°F for 10 minutes on each side, 20 minutes total.
- 8--- To Grill ---
- 9Place patties on greased aluminum foil and grill at medium heat for 8 minutes on each side, being gently as you turn them. Place cheese on the last few minutes to melt slightly.
- 10Serve with toppings!
