Easy and Super Tasty Peppered Fish

📝 Ingredients

  • 1500 g of croaker fish or fish of choice cleaned washed and patted dry.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 large red bell peppers chopped
  • 2 large green bell peppers chopped
  • 1 large onion chopped in rings
  • 1 tsp bouillon powder
  • 3- 4 habanero peppers
  • 1 small tomato
  • 4 Tbsp Oil
  • 2 cups of oil for deep frying

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1--- The Fish: ---
  2. 2Mix lemon juice and salt
  3. 3In a clean bowl, mix fish and marinade together then transfer into a freezer bag and put in the fridge.
  4. 4Allow the fish to marinade for 30 mins to an hour
  5. 5After the marinade, heat up oil and deep fry the fish at least 3 mins on each side.
  6. 6Transfer to a tray lined with paper towel to help absorb excess oil.
  7. 7--- The Sauce: ---
  8. 8Blend tomato and habanero pepper with as little water as possible and set aside
  9. 9While fish is marinating, heat up 4 tbsp of oil, sauté onions.
  10. 10Pour in the tomato pepper mix.
  11. 11Fry for about a minute
  12. 12Then add the chopped red and green bell peppers. and the bouillon powder.
  13. 13Stir fry for another two minutes on low heat. Taste for seasoning and adjust accordingly. Then turn off heat.
  14. 14--- The Mix: ---
  15. 15After frying the fish, transfer to another tray then pour this sauce over the fish and mix gently to prevent the fish from breaking apart.
  16. 16--- Serving Suggestions: ---
  17. 17Serve with chips
  18. 18Serve in stew
  19. 19Serve with frejon
