A gorgeous strawberry basil galette with homemade whipped cream on top. Flaky homemade pie crust really is the secret to this mouth watering galette.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs strawberries, cut in half
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • fresh basil leaves
  • 8 oz heavy whipping cream
  • pinch or two of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1 stick butter, 8 tbsp, cold and cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 c ice cold water
