Cool and refreshing watermelon agua fresca, called agua de sandia. A perfect accompaniment to the comida, or mid-day meal and a much better drink option than soda.

📝 Ingredients

  • 6 cups watermelon cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Lime
  • 1/2 gallon water

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove all the seeds.
  2. 2Place the cut-up watermelon in the blender with 2 cups water and blend until smooth. (about 30 seconds)
  3. 3Pour the blended watermelon into a 1/2 gallon pitcher with 1/2 cup of sugar. Add water to fill pitcher.
  4. 4Add the juice of 1 lime (optional)
  5. 5Stir vigorously until the sugar has dissolved.
  6. 6Serve lightly chilled or over ice.
