Caramelized Orange Butter Sauce

Don't skip caramelizing the oranges—this step brings rich toasted notes to this bright butter sauce. Perfect for crepes, pancakes or sundaes!
Ingredients
- 2 large oranges
- 10 (5 tablespoons) Land O Lakes® Butter Balls divided
- 1/3 cup sugar

Zest oranges to collect 1 tablespoon zest. Cut oranges in half.

Melt 1 Butter Ball in 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until sizzling. Add orange halves, cut-side down; cook 2-2 1/2 minutes or until caramelized. Remove orange halves from pan; cool 5 minutes.

Juice orange halves using reamer or handheld juicer to collect 2/3 cup juice.

Wipe out skillet. Combine orange juice, orange zest and sugar in skillet; bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook 3-4 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly.

Reduce heat to low. Whisk in remaining Butter Balls, 3 at a time, whisking constantly until each addition is fully incorporated before adding next. Serve immediately.
