This recipe is for the best lemon tart. It has a Golden Oreo crust, and it’s filled with a creamy and tart lemon custard filling.
📝 Ingredients
- 15 Golden Oreos (or about 4.5 oz. of graham crackers)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 egg yolks
- 7 oz. sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp lemon extract
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1--- For the Golden Oreo Crust ---
- 2Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 3Remove the filling from 15 Golden Oreos. Add them to a food processor and pulse them until they are finely ground.
- 4Add in 1/4 cup of melted, unsalted butter and 2 tbsp of granulated sugar. Pulse to combine.
- 5Press the crumbs evenly on the bottom and up the sides of an 8 inch pan. It helps to use a 1/4 cup measuring cup or a spoon to do this.
- 6Bake the crust at 350 degrees for 8 minutes and then let cool completely while making the filling.
- 7--- For the Lemon Filling ---
- 8In a small bowl mix 2 oz. of softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until it is completely smooth.
- 9Then mix in 2 egg yolks.
- 10Next add in 7 oz. of sweetened condensed milk and combine.
- 11Then add in 1/4 cup of heavy cream and 1/4 cup of lemon juice and mix until completely combined.
- 12Lastly mix in 2 tsp of lemon extract and 1/2 tsp of lemon zest.
- 13Pour the filling into the prepared tart crust. Bake the tart for 16-18 minutes at 350 degrees. The center will be slightly jiggly still.
- 14Let the pie chill on the counter for 15 minutes and then in the fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight before serving.
- 15Top with fresh berries if you desire and serve!
