Fantastic simple Shredded Crab Tagliatelle is a quick and easy to make pasta dinner. Great recipe idea for canned / tinned shredded crab meat. Cooked in a homemade sauce of garlic parsley butter, lemon and tomatoes. Stirred through cooked tagliatelle, linguine, pappardelle or spaghetti.

📝 Ingredients

  • 60 grams Butter
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped ( Use 1 tbsp if using dried))
  • 500 grams Tagliatelle Pasta (or spaghetti, linguine, pappardelle)
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Onions (diced)
  • 200 gram Cherry or Plum Tomatoes (kept whole)
  • 5 Garlic cloves (minced) (or 3 tsp garlic puree)
  • 120 ml pasta water (save before draining)
  • 120 ml Passata
  • 200 grams Shredded Crab Meat (we used 2 tins but fresh crab meat can be used for best results)
  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • pinch salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Parmesean
  • Parsley
  • Chilli Flakes

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Herb Butter: Place butter and parsley in a bowl and mix together with a fork, set aside until needed.
  2. 2Pasta: Cook pasta to packet instruction. Remember to reserve 120ml (½ cup) of pasta water before draining.
  3. 3Fry: Meanwhile, fry onions with olive oil on high for 3 minutes, add tomatoes and fry for further 3 minutes.
  4. 4Garlic: Add minced garlic.
  5. 5Simmer: Add the passata and stir until warmed through, turn the heat down to medium.
  6. 6Crab: Add tinned crab and parsley butter you prepared earlier.
  7. 7Melt: Stir through until butter melted through
  8. 8Lemon: Add the juice of ½ lemon and the reserved pasta water
  9. 9Pasta: Add the cooked pasta, stir to coat through and season with salt & pepper.
  10. 10Garnish: Serve and sprinkle with your choice of parmesan, chilli flakes and parsley.
