Prawns are an excellent source of protein, and when combined with fresh salad and soft taco shells, they make for a well-rounded dish.This king prawn recipe can be made with fresh or frozen prawns, and can be easily adapted to suit your taste. So whether you like your tacos mild or spicy, these shrimp wraps are sure to hit the spot.

📝 Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 165 g Raw King Prawns (Peeled)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (diced)
  • 1 Red Chilli Pepper (diced)
  • Small Handful Fresh Coriander Leaves and Stems (Cilantro)
  • 3 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
  • 1 Lime (cut into wedges)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 4 Soft Taco Wraps (or Tortilla Wraps)
  • 1/4 Red Cabbage (Shredded)
  • 1/4 Cucumber (Thin batons)
  • 1/2 Red Pepper (Bell) (Finely sliced)
  • 1/2 tin Sweetcorn
  • 1 Carrot (Grated)
  • 2 Spring Onions (Sliced lengthways)
  • 1 tbsp Peanuts (crushed)
  • 1 Fresh Chilli Pepper (Finely sliced)
  • 1 tsp Chilli Flakes

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Prepare salad items. You can change salad items used to suit your taste. We used ¼ Red Cabbage, ¼ Cucumber, ½ Red Pepper (Bell), ½ tin Sweetcorn, 1 Carrot and 2 Spring Onions
  2. 2Separate: With the Small Handful Fresh Coriander Leaves and Stems (Cilantro) Remove coriander leaves from the stems to add to the salad.Finely dice the coriander stems and the 3 cloves Garlic and 1 Red Chilli Pepper.
  3. 3Fill: Bend the 4 Soft Taco Wraps into a u-shape and rest against each other. Prop the two end ones up with lime wedges cut from 1 Lime.Fill with salad items and coriander leaves.
  4. 4Dry: Remove excess liquid from 165 g Raw King Prawns using kitchen paper towels.
  5. 5Oil: Heat 2 tbsp Olive Oil in a frying pan. Add prawns and cook on one side for 3 minutes.
  6. 6Turn to the other side and add the chopped coriander stems, garlic and chilli, you prepared earlier. Cook for additional 3 minutes, until prawns have turned pink throughout
  7. 7Sauce: Add 3 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce and a small squeeze of lime juice.
  8. 8Season: Stir through until warmed through. Season with Salt & Pepper.
  9. 9Serve: Divide the prawns evenly on top of the salad in the taco shells. Spoon the sauce over the top.
  10. 10Toppings: Optional Extra Toppings -Like them spicy? Add 1 Fresh Chilli Pepper finely chopped or 1 tsp Chilli Flakes.Want an extra crunch? Sprinkle some 1 tbsp Peanuts crushed on top.Serve with a wedge of lime so people can add more sourness if desired.
