Oatmeal Apple Crisp

This Oatmeal Apple Crisp is the perfect autumn dish. The classic apple filling is topped with a crispy, buttery oatmeal topping that will remind you of your childhood.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Apples approx 6 medium apples (at room temperature peeled, cored, and cut into wedges))
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup light-brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 8 tablespoons butter (1 stick/1/2 cup/8oz melted)

Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C and position the oven rack one level below the center. Butter a 12 by 8-inch baking dish (or medium casserole dish with a similar size) and set aside.

Mix the apples with the lemon juice in a small mixing bowl. Add the flour, brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and toss to coat evenly. Mix in the melted butter and vanilla.
