You'll love this easy homemade strawberry milk. It's made with fresh strawberries. No artificial flavorings at all. It's a great make-ahead recipe!
📝 Ingredients
- 2 cups diced fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Your favorite milk (unsweetened), to taste (I like to use whole or 2 percent milk)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1In a saucepan, combine diced strawberries, sugar and water and bring to a boil. Reduce to a low boil and cook it down for about 10 to 15 minutes (uncovered), stirring, until slightly thickened. It will be pretty thin.
- 2Strain the strawberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve, pressing it down with a spoon, to make a smooth syrup. Discard strawberries. Let the syrup cool down completely. Note: If desired, don’t strain the mixture - you can add the cooked down strawberries to your milk too, but you’ll need a thicker straw.
- 3To serve, mix milk with the prepared syrup to taste. The amount of milk really depends on your preference. If you want it sweeter, use less milk and more syrup. Enjoy hot or cold!
