Spiced Quince Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 250 ml full fat milk
  • 3 star anise
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 250 ml double cream
  • 1 x 385g tin condensed milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 350 g preserved quince slices (core removed and roughly chopped)

Instructions

    Add the star anise and cinnamon to the milk and heat until just below boiling point.

    Remove from the heat, cover and let infuse for an hour.

    Remove the spices from the milk and let the milk cool in the fridge for a few hours.

    In a large mixing bowl, mix the milk, condensed milk, cream, salt and vanilla extract and beat until mixed well.

    Churn in your ice cream maker as per the manufacturer instructions.

    Once the mixture has churned, mix in the quince pieces and freeze
