📝 Ingredients

  • 150 grams (5 1/3 ounces) ground beef
  • 150 grams (5 1/3 ounces) ground pork
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • A drizzle of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon breadcrumbs
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 4 pita breads or burger bans
  • 1 teaspoon salt

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, add the ground meat, salt, pepper, nutmeg, Worcestershire sauce, egg yolk, and breadcrumbs. Use your hands to combine well.
  2. 2Divide the meat mixture into 4 portions, then use your hands to form burger patties.
  3. 3Heat the vegetable oil in a grill pan over medium heat. Add the burger patties and cook them on both sides until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. 4Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a medium frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the onion slices and brown sugar, then cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft, golden brown, and well caramelized.
  5. 5Slice the pita bread or burger buns in half and place a burger topped with caramelized onions on the bottom half of each bun. Cover with the top half and serve with French fries.
