Apple Oatmeal Bars

This cinnamon-apple and oatmeal bars recipe with hints of vanilla is baked to golden perfection for a sweet breakfast bite.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Granny Smith apple (peeled and grated )

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8” square baking pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, stir together oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

In another bowl, whisk together milk, applesauce, oil, egg, and vanilla.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, then mix until combined. Fold shredded apple into the batter.

Transfer batter to prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.

Remove bars to a cutting board and cool completely before slicing.
