This easy Oven Roasted Whole Chicken recipe is seasoned and cooked perfectly, leaving you with chicken that is tender, juicy, and so flavorful. It pairs with just about any side dish and a perfect dinner anytime!
📝 Ingredients
- 3 & 1/2 pound whole fryer chicken
- 1-2 small lemon slices
- 1 sprig fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon Ranch seasoning powder
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (, room temperature)
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Set a rack inside a roasting pan and coat with nonstick cooking spray.
- 2Remove giblets from inside of the chicken's cavity. Rinse the chicken inside and out. Thoroughly dry the chicken with paper towels.
- 3Place the lemon slices, thyme, and a dash of coarse salt and pepper inside the chicken cavity.
- 4In a small bowl, whisk together the seasonings, lemon juice, and Worcestershire.
- 5Rub the chicken all over with the butter and seasoning mixture.
- 6Tie the chicken legs together with kitchen twine and tuck the wings underneath.
- 7Place chicken, breast side up, on the rack in the pan; transfer to the oven.
- 8Roast, uncovered, until an instant thermometer registers 165 degrees F in the thickest part of the thigh (avoiding the bone), about 55 minutes.
- 9Slice the legs, wings, and breasts and serve with your favorite sides.
