Sopa de ervilha partida

Esta sopa de ervilha partida, quentinha e encorpada, é a comida reconfortante perfeita para um dia frio! Ela é feita com ervilhas partidas secas, legumes macios e presunto saboroso, cozidos lentamente até ficar cremosa e encorpada. Esta sopa clássica é muito fácil de preparar, sustenta bastante e é perfeita para deixar pronta com antecedência ou congelar!
Ingredientes
- 2 1/4 cups dried split peas (rinsed well)
- 2 quarts cold water (plus extra as needed)
- 1 1/2 pound ham (1 bone)
- 2 onions (thinly sliced)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 pinch dried marjoram
- 3 stalks celery (chopped)
- 3 carrots (chopped)
- 1 potato (diced)
Modo de preparo

Soak the dried split peas in cold water for 1 hour (or overnight), then drain, rinse, and return to a large pot.

Add 2 quarts of cold water, ham bone, onions, salt, pepper, and marjoram to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1½ hours.

Remove the ham bone, cut off the meat, chop it, and return the chopped ham to the soup.

Add chopped celery, carrots, and diced potato. Simmer uncovered for 30–40 minutes or until the veggies are tender.

Taste the soup, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve hot!
