Ingredientes

  • 2 tuna steaks (4 ounces each)
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Sea salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1-2 teaspoons wasabi paste
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Pinch xanthan gum

Modo de preparo

  1. 1

--- Season the tuna steaks ---

  2. 2

Mix the lemon pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, and salt in a small bowl.

  3. 3

Coat the tuna steaks by rubbing the prepared spice mix on both sides. Once coated evenly, set them aside.

  4. 4

--- Make the wasabi sauce ---

  5. 5

Combine the heavy cream, wasabi paste, and soy sauce in a bowl.

  6. 6

Sprinkle a pinch of xanthan gum into the mixture and whisk until well combined.

  7. 7

Heat on low until it is warmed through and thickened.

  8. 8

--- Cook the tuna steaks ---

  9. 9

Heat your cast-iron skillet over medium heat for 10 minutes.

  10. 10

Carefully place the steaks into the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish. Aim for 4-5 minutes per side if you prefer it cooked through.

  11. 11

Then, remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes.

  12. 12

Arrange them on a serving plate and pour the wasabi sauce on top. Serve and enjoy!
