A delicious Saigon-style cold cut banh mi sandwich, filled with savoury meats and fresh vegetables.

📝 Ingredients

  • 2 crusty baguettes
  • 2 Tbsp butter or mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp pate
  • 6 slices cha lua (Vietanmese steamed pork sausage) (cut in half)
  • 6 slices head cheese
  • 6 pcs sliced pork (or char siu (BBQ pork))
  • do chua (Vietnamese pickled carrot and daikon)
  • cucumber (sliced)
  • cilantro
  • jalapeno (sliced, optional)
  • splash of Maggi seasoning

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1Slice the baguettes in half.
  2. 2Slather the bottom half with mayonnaise or butter.
  3. 3Next, spread on the liver pate.
  4. 4Layer on the cold cut meats (cha lua / pork sausage, head cheese, sliced pork).
  5. 5Add the pickled daikon and carrot (do chua).
  6. 6Next, add cucumbers, cilantro, and jalapeno (if you like it hot, or omit).
  7. 7Splash a little Maggi seasoning over the top.
  8. 8Close up the sandwiches, and enjoy!
