These Easy Beef Samosas are packed with flavorful beef and spices and wrapped in a crispy pastry shell. Perfect as a snack or appetizer!
📝 Ingredients
- 1/2 onion (diced)
- 350 g of ground beef
- 1 large potato (diced)
- 1/4 tsp of cumin
- 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp of thyme or bay leaf
- 1 tbsp cornflour (see notes)
- 12-14 pastry sheets
- vegetable oil for frying
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant. Then add ground beef and season salt, pepper, cumin, and thyme. Stir well.
- 2Next, add chopped potatoes to the pan and mix with the beef and continue to cook the mixture until the beef is browned and the potatoes are tender.
- 3Once done, remove the pan from the heat and allow the filling to cool down completely.
- 4Next, take a sheet of pastry and place a portion of the cooled minced beef filling on it. Fold the pastry over the filling to form the samosa, ensuring the edges are sealed using the cornflour mixture. Do not overfill the pastry sheets.
- 5Then, heat oil in a saucepan or deep fryer over medium heat. Place the samosas in the hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- 6Use a slotted spoon to remove the samosas from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
- 7Finally, serve these crispy beef samosas with tomato relish or green chutney.
