📝 Ingredients

  • 6 Eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 3 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Green Onion (sliced)
  • 1 Korean Green Pepper (chopped)
  • 1 Red Chili (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1In a pot, bring enough water to cover the eggs. Add salt and vinegar and bring to boil. Once the water is boiling, add eggs and boil for 6 minutes or 10 minutes if you want hard boiled eggs.
  2. 2While you boil the eggs, prepare the ice water bath. Transfer the boiled egg immediately and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  3. 3Meanwhile, make the marinade sauce in a mixing bowl. Combine soy sauce, water, and honey. Stir with a spoon until the honey is completely mix. Add garlic, green pepper, red chili, green onion, and sesame seeds.
  4. 4Gently peel the eggs then put the egg to a jar or an airtight container and pour the marinade sauce. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight or at least 6 hours.
  5. 5Serve the mayak egg with warm cooked rice and frizzled it with a bit of sesame oil if desire. Enjoy!
