A good marinade can take your chicken wings to the next level. This sauce is the perfect balance of savory and sweet - A combination to keep you reaching for more.
📝 Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 teaspoons corn starch
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
- 2 lbs chicken wings
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1--- For The Marinade ---
- 2Whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, and corn starch until smooth in a large bowl. Mix the brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, garlic, and ginger. Set aside ½ cup of mixture.
- 3Add the chicken wings and coat in the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap, and marinate in the refrigerator for 1-8 hours. Remove the wings leaving as much of the marinade behind as possible.
- 4In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the reserved marinade to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until thickened. Allow to cool and store in the fridge until ready to use.
- 5--- To Oven Bake ---
- 6Preheat an oven to 425°F
- 7For crisp results, dry the chicken wings before air frying (this step is optional).
- 8Bake the wings on a sheet pan for 30 minutes (for extra crispy wings, place a wire rack in the baking sheet and cook the wings on the rack) then turn the wings over and cook the other side for another 20 minutes.
- 9Turn the oven to broil. Brush sauce over wings and broil until caramelized, and the internal temperature of the wings reads 165°F.
- 10--- To Grill ---
- 11Preheat a gas grill to medium heat (about 350°F).
- 12Place the wings on the grill. Grill, flipping the wings every 5 minutes, for a total of 20 minutes of cooking.
- 13Brush the sauce onto the wings and grill until the skins crisp, 1 to 2 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reads 165°F.
- 14--- To Air Fry ---
- 15Preheat the airfryer to 360°F
- 16For crisp results, dry the chicken wings before air frying (this step is optional).
- 17Spray the air fryer basket or rack with cooking spray place the wings in the fryer basket or rack, so they are not touching (if necessary to fit in a basket, line them standing upright along the sides of the basket).
- 18Cook for 15 minutes.
- 19Flip the wings with tongs, brush with the sauce, and cook for 15 minutes more or until the outsides are extra-crispy, and the internal temperature reads 165°F.
