The Cajun shrimp Pasta is a quick, easy, and flavorful stand-alone seafood meal. It’s a satisfying comfort seafood pasta at its best.
📝 Ingredients
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (divided)
- 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
- 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
- 3 large tomatoes
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1 bunch of basil
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add pasta and boil till al-dente. Drain the excess water and set it aside.
- 2Season shrimp with paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl; mix thoroughly and set aside.
- 3Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic and cook for a minute. Add the shrimp and cook for about 5 minutes or till cooked through without any gray on the inside.
- 4Add and stir fry the bell peppers about 2 minutes before the shrimp gets done. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 5Put the remaining two tablespoons of oil in the pan and stir in the diced tomatoes. Then cover and cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until the tomatoes release their juices and become soft.
- 6Add the soy sauce, chili pepper flakes, black pepper, thyme, and chicken stock, and let it come to a boil.
- 7Stir in the pasta and leave to get heated through about 1-2 minutes. Then stir in the basil leaves, shrimps, and veggie mixture.
