- 4 lbs pork shoulder steaks (also sold as barbecue pork shoulder steaks) (1.8 kilograms)
- 1 cup chicken broth (240 ml )
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce, plus extra for serving, your choice (360 ml )
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Place the pork shoulder steaks in the slow cooker, arranging them in an even layer.
- 2Sprinkle evenly with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 3Pour the chicken broth around the pork.
- 4Cover and cook on LOW for 8–9 hours or on HIGH for 5–6 hours, until the pork is very tender and easily pulls apart.
- 5Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks. Discard excess fat if desired.
- 6Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker.
- 7Stir in the BBQ sauce until evenly coated.
- 8Cover and cook on LOW for an additional 20–30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 9Taste and add extra BBQ sauce if needed before serving.
