You may think that's Guacamole in the photo below, but you'd be mistaken. You see, I was in the mood for some Hummus and happen to spy a can of Hatch Green Chiles in my pantry. What? Green Chile Hummus? Could it actually work? Only one way to find out!
📝 Ingredients
- 1 can Chickpeas ((15 oz))
- 1/2 cup Cilantro
- 1 can Hatch Green Chiles ((4oz))
- 1 Jalapeno ((seeds removed))
- 1/2 Lime (peeled but some zest remaining)
- 1 tsp Minced Garlic ((about 2 cloves))
- 3/4 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Tbs Water ((for thinning))
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Drain and rinse the Chickpeas and add them to your blender.
- 2Drain the Green Chiles and add them to your blender too.
- 3Remove the seeds and membrane from the Jalapeno and add that to the mix.
- 4Peel about 1/2 a Lime - but leave some zest on - and toss that in as well. (And I don't mean just the juice either, toss in the entire half of the partially peeled lime. )
- 5Add everything else and blend on high until nice and smooth. Add the tablespoon of water if you need to thin it down some and help it blend.
