Enjoy a perfectly cooked steak every single time by cooking it sous vide. It's packed with flavor, tender and juicy.
📝 Ingredients
- 2 New York Strip steaks (1 1/2 inches thick, or another steak of your choice)
- salt and pepper
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Fresh thyme
- 6 Tablespoon butter (divided)
- 2 Tablespoon avocado oil
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1Fill pot or plastic container with water, set the immersion circulator to your desired temperature and time, and start it.
- 2Season the steaks with salt, freshly ground black pepper, garlic powder and add 1 Tbsp of butter and a couple of springs of fresh thyme to each steak
- 3Place each seasoned steaks in a FoodSaver® bag and using the FoodSaver® vacuum sealer vacuum seal the steaks.
- 4Transfer the steaks to the water and sous vide them for at least 1 hour, or according to the time & temperature chart below. Once the steaks are cooked, remove them from the water. You can sear them right away or refrigerate them for a few days later.
- 5Heat oil over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for a couple of minutes on each side. Reduce heat to medium and add 4 Tbsp of butter to the skillet. Baste steaks in butter for a couple of minutes on each side. Serve immediately.
