Spam gau gee or wontons Hawaii style! There are a lot of versions of favorite fillings for Spam Gau Gee, but his one was different.
📝 Ingredients
- oil for frying
- 1 can (12 oz.) Spam, grated
- 1 can (6 oz.) water packed tuna, drained
- 1 can (8 oz.) water chestnuts, coarsely chopped
- 2 stalks green onion, chopped
- won ton pi wrappers
- 1/2 c. water as needed
👨🍳 Instructions
- 1In a large skillet or fryer; warm oil.
- 2In a small bowl; place water; set aside.
- 3In a mixing bowl; combine all ingredients well.
- 4Spoon heaping tablespoonful of mixture into wrapper.
- 5Fold in half or in triangles; seal edges with water as desired.
- 6Crimped edges make a nice presentation.
- 7Deep fry until golden.
- 8Drain on paper towel.
- 9Optional to boil in boiling water or soup.
- 10Gau Gee/Won Ton will float when cooked through.
- 11Freezes well.

- 13Serve with shoyu-mustard sauce or favorite dipping sauce.
- 14Makes approximately 40-50.
